Black Bulbs 2010
Blown glass sculptures developed from investigation into the history of electric light and vacuum tubes. Referencing the human pursuit to capture and store energy, the work incorporates neon light suspended between polarities.
The darkness of these dense black forms act as a mechanism for inverting light, to prevent its escape and preserve its containment.
