Solar Chroma 2017
Kinetic solar powered light installation at Pontio Arts and Innovation Centre, Bangor, North Wales.
In moments of sunlight, miniature solar powered mechanisms become activated, rotating a series of suspended dichroic panels to create dynamic projections of light, colour and movement across the space.
Spanning 40 metres across the south facing window facade, the work changes throughout the day in response to the sun.
Made in collaboration with electronic engineers at Bangor University.
The public art element of Pontio’s capital build is funded by the Arts Council of Wales and Bangor University.
